2 - Puppy for a Day
DMWP V1C2 – Part 19
by BlossomTLDon’t Mess with the Puppy! When Heeseong woke up again, it was early evening after the sun had set.
The crimson sunlight penetrated the house with particularly large windows. Heeseong looked around with his eyes faintly open. He saw the familiar scenery of the house.
‘This is Yoon Chi-young’s house…’
Heeseong sighed deeply. He felt a sharp pain from his leg, but he held back his groans and urgently looked at the digital clock. Three days had passed since he collapsed. Feeling something strange, Heeseong finally checked his appearance.
He was in his human form.
Moreover, he was wearing Yoon Chi-young’s oversized T-shirt. He was also wearing new briefs, and his white tail was visible. An IV was inserted into his arm, and a larger cast than last time was wrapped around his leg.
Heeseong, who had been looking down at himself, froze for a moment.
Yoon Chi-young had seen his human form.
Yoon Chi-young was quick-witted and had a keen sense of smell. He must have noticed that he was the puppy he had been caring for.
“No…”
Heeseong bit his lip and looked around anxiously. He didn’t know why Yoon Chi-young had brought him back to the house, but no hopeful thoughts came to mind.
Yoon Chi-young might simply want to play with him more, or he might want to take some kind of revenge. Or at best, he might intend to use him as a subordinate. Heeseong glanced around and limped toward the dressing room connected to the bedroom.
For now, it would be better to flee somewhere.
Heeseong frantically took out the clothes he could grab and tried to leave. But soon, Heeseong’s hand froze.
‘Where can I go? …I have nowhere to go, so why am I running away?’
Now, Heeseong had nowhere to return to. His brother had betrayed him and sold him to Kwon Ki-hyuk, and his family had already abandoned him long ago. His brother said he had used the money Heeseong had diligently saved to cover the cost of the lost drugs, so Heeseong was completely penniless.
“…Fuck…”
Even though crying was futile, Heeseong’s vision blurred. He had been living with the hope of saving money and escaping the organization, but everything had collapsed. He had ended up in the man-eating wolf’s den again, and his body was in no condition to do anything.
Soon, Heeseong wiped away his tears. Still, outside would be better than here.
Click.
But as if the heavens had abandoned Heeseong, he heard the sound of the front door opening. Although the noise was faint because the house was spacious, Heeseong sensitively perked up his puppy ears.
It was Yoon Chi-young.
Heeseong, who had been fidgeting, frantically looked for a place to hide. Although his body ached, he forcibly dragged his leg and entered the wardrobe. Yoon Chi-young’s expensive coats wrinkled and fell on Heeseong’s body.
Heeseong put on one of the thick coats. Then he gritted his teeth to avoid making any sound of breathing. He didn’t want to show Yoon Chi-young his tears or his human form. Even if he tried to turn back into a puppy, it was difficult because bandages were wrapped around his body.
Yoon Chi-young’s scent gradually became stronger to Heeseong’s shapeshifter nose. It meant he was getting closer. Heeseong, who had been curled up and focusing on his sense of smell, widened his eyes.
The smell of blood.
Yoon Chi-young had the smell of thick blood on him again.
This time, he didn’t seem to have any intention of hiding it, as there was no scent of soap or perfume. He just carried the smell of the cold air from outside.
Heeseong knew that Yoon Chi-young had taken care of someone again. It should be something he was used to by now, but Heeseong, who was injured, absolutely couldn’t do that. Even though he tried to stay calm, his fingertips trembled, and his white tail tightly wrapped around his crotch.
“Ha…”
The sound of Yoon Chi-young’s sigh was heard nearby. The smell of blood also intensified.
Heeseong curled up even smaller inside the wardrobe. He knew the wolf with a keen sense of smell would find him soon, but he instinctively hid his body.
Yoon Chi-young gradually got closer. He must have been standing in front of the wardrobe, as his footsteps stopped, and his scent wafted from close by.
Heeseong silently took a deep breath and thought.
‘If he opens the door, I’ll punch him right away and run.’
Anyway, the man-eating wolf’s affection was only for the puppy, not for “Heeseong.” Since Heeseong had already decided not to live as a puppy, he had to escape from his embrace. Moreover, he had been kicked out of the dog clan’s gambling den, so he had to find a way to live on his own.
All by himself.
At that thought, Heeseong’s body lost strength. Like a puppy who had lost all hope.
Swish.
Then, the sliding door of the wardrobe gently opened. Heeseong was buried in Yoon Chi-young’s coat, hiding his tears. For a while, there was no word about what Yoon Chi-young was thinking when he saw him like that.
Belatedly, he called out to him.
“Puppy.”
The hem of the coat was carefully lifted. Then, Heeseong’s black hair and white puppy ears that had been curled up were revealed. The head that had been buried in his knees was slowly raised, and Heeseong’s frightened round eyes were carefully shown.
Heeseong immediately made eye contact with Yoon Chi-young, whose shirt was stained with blood. He was smiling at Heeseong as usual, bending his knees to match his gaze.
Heeseong, who had been curled up in fear, made the last struggle he could.
“Get away…!”
Heeseong stretched out his fist with all his might to push Yoon Chi-young away. It was a nimble and sturdy fist, unlike his physique.
However, Yoon Chi-young easily caught the fist. Rather, the rebound pulled Heeseong into his arms. Heeseong’s frightened black eyes were right in front of him.
Yoon Chi-young acted as usual toward such Heeseong.
“Let go! You crazy bas…!”
Heeseong’s words were gently muffled. Yoon Chi-young willingly embraced the puppy’s canines with his lips. He intertwined his tongue with the stiff Heeseong while happily squinting his eyes, even as blood flowed from his lips. Heeseong’s reaction was more sensitive than he thought, as if he was devouring an innocent boy with a wicked temptation.
Yoon Chi-young discovered the puppy’s weakness. The puppy, who always reacted with fisticuffs to skinship, was flustered and at a loss with just one erotic kiss. He tried to push Yoon Chi-young’s body away with his hands, but the difference in physique was something the puppy could never overcome.
“Ha, haa…”
Gradually, Heeseong’s body retreated into the wardrobe. Yoon Chi-young wrapped his arm strongly around Heeseong’s lower back as if supporting him. Heeseong’s fist, which he had grabbed with his other hand, still had strength, but Yoon Chi-young patiently intertwined his tongue until the puppy relaxed.
Soon, the tension gradually left Heeseong’s body.
Every time their tongues gently intertwined, his half-folded puppy ears fluttered like butterfly wings. Seeing Heeseong, who had his eyes wide open in surprise with their lips overlapping, Yoon Chi-young carefully covered his eyes with his palm.
Soon, Heeseong’s body collapsed and was softly buried in the pile of clothes in the wardrobe. On top of that, Yoon Chi-young looked down at the real Heeseong and smiled brightly.
“Were you waiting for me?”
“……”
Heeseong, who was buried in the pile of coats, blankly froze and moved his lips. Yoon Chi-young was carefully observing his expression with his annoyingly handsome face.
“You’re the same as when you were a puppy.”
Even at the embarrassing words, Heeseong couldn’t react at all. His brows, which had always been fiercely furrowed, were loosened in vain, and his black, round eyes stood out like when he was a puppy. Seeing that vulnerable expression, Yoon Chi-young burst into a delightful laugh, squinting his eyes. Heeseong’s startled and wide-eyed appearance looked exactly the same as when he was a puppy.
“You, you…”
“Yes.”
However, unlike when he was a puppy, this time they could communicate. Heeseong, who had fully laid his white puppy ears back, expressed his first kiss experience in his own way.
“Are you, are you, are you crazy…?”
In the end, Yoon Chi-young, who burst into laughter, buried his head in Heeseong’s shoulder and shook with laughter.
A puppy who could talk was much cuter than he thought.

Heeseong ended up leaving the wardrobe in Yoon Chi-young’s arms. Even when Yoon Chi-young put a large T-shirt on him, changed into clean clothes himself, and moved him to the dining table, he remained blankly frozen.
At first, it was because it felt natural for Yoon Chi-young to carry him, and next, it was because he was shocked at how accustomed he had become.
‘…Wasn’t he going to find me and kill me?’
The question he had taken for granted had been filling his mind.
Heeseong thought that if the puppy he had been raising turned out to be a shapeshifter who had deceived him, then… rather than wanting to kill him, he would have felt quite betrayed.
But Yoon Chi-young treated Heeseong kindly as usual, let alone feeling betrayed.
“Weren’t you hungry? It’s time for you to be hungry now, isn’t it?”
“……”
At that question, Heeseong sat like a doll that only breathed, as Yoon Chi-young moved him. He ended up sitting on Yoon Chi-young’s lap by chance, but his mind was so full of confusion that he didn’t even realize something was strange.
‘Did he grow that attached to me…?’
So he doesn’t even care that I’m a shapeshifter? Heeseong tried to grasp the situation by desperately racking his small brain.
Belatedly, he found a plausible hypothesis.
‘Could it be that he’s trying to keep me as a puppy like this?’
It made sense. Shapeshifters with a small original form like Heeseong were rare, and considering Yoon Chi-young’s crazy personality, there was no other possibility. And keeping Heeseong as a puppy itself was the biggest way to deceive him.
Heeseong, who had been fed egg porridge in Yoon Chi-young’s arms, couldn’t help but ask.
“You… why are you treating me like usual?”
“What do you mean?”
Yoon Chi-young asked, tilting his head closer as if he couldn’t understand. His languid yet soft voice distinctly penetrated his ear, making him flinch. Heeseong thought Yoon Chi-young was consistently acting natural because he still thought he was a puppy.
‘I’m a fighting dog.’
Heeseong, who had been nestled in Yoon Chi-young’s arms, abruptly got up. Then, with his puppy ears and wariness fully raised, he leaned against the chair next to him and aggressively asked.
“You’re thinking of keeping me as a puppy like this, aren’t you?”
“What are you talking about?”
“Then why are you treating me like usual?”
Even when he asked angrily, baring his canines, Yoon Chi-young just had a puzzled look on his face.
Out of frustration, Heeseong spoke fiercely to him as if telling him to come to his senses.
“I… I had punched you in the face!”
“Ah… that.”
Yoon Chi-young mumbled in a calmly subdued voice. Heeseong watched him with great tension.
Yoon Chi-young, who had been gazing at the air somewhere as if looking at a distant star with his gray eyes, belatedly smiled faintly and muttered to himself.
“It was really thrilling…”
“……”
“I was so angry, but my heart was pounding so much… was it from then?”
Heeseong’s expression was a mixture of shock, surprise, and pathetic feelings. But Yoon Chi-young was used to even that gaze. He smiled nonchalantly and finished feeding Heeseong the egg porridge.
Heeseong naturally ate the egg porridge and then flinched in surprise. He hated that he had become accustomed to this bastard’s touch.
He wasn’t someone’s puppy.
“Stop feeding me!”
Heeseong snatched the spoon that Yoon Chi-young was trying to feed him again. Suddenly unable to bear the feeling, Heeseong pulled the chair roughly and backed away a little. The tail behind his back was also stiff, and the fur was standing on end. Heeseong spoke fiercely, holding the spoon like a weapon.
“Then, you… all this time…”
Heeseong’s face was flushed red as he stammered and asked. He was angry, but more than that, he felt humiliated all over his body.
“Knowing that I was the puppy, you, you raised me like a pet?”
“Me? When?”
Yoon Chi-young innocently widened his eyes as if it was absurd. Sitting with his legs crossed, he smiled elegantly, squinting his eyes.
“I always raised you like a lover.”
“You crazy bastard!”
As expected, Yoon Chi-young was a cunning wolf bastard. He had been warned by his brother and that Park Geon-tae son of a bitch, but he didn’t know why he had forgotten. Heeseong glared at him as if he would kill him, holding the spoon tightly.
So Yoon Chi-young had known all along that he was pretending to be a puppy. Yoon Chi-young seemed not only cunning but also vicious. Heeseong glared at Yoon Chi-young as if he would kill him, but he asked, trembling the tips of his ears in humiliation.
“Then why did you pretend not to know I was a shapeshifter at first?”
“That’s…”
At the question, Yoon Chi-young turned his head to the side as if embarrassed. He had been opening his mouth in a coy manner, but he spoke as if he was quite ashamed.
“Because you were so cute, I wanted to keep you by my side…”
“You, you…”
Heeseong couldn’t even curse anymore. Perhaps because anger had built up, he felt a sharp pain in his chest.
Heeseong held his chest and frowned. It was better when he was a puppy who couldn’t communicate with Yoon Chi-young. Now that they could even talk, he started to feel a thousand resentments boiling inside.
“Ugh…”
But the pain didn’t easily subside. Because of the injury he had suffered this time, even a small stimulation was difficult for his body to endure. As Heeseong held his chest and staggered, Yoon Chi-young got up and supported him in his arms.
“Are you okay, darling?”
“Get, get away! Because of you… it hurts more…”
It seemed like the pain of being kicked in the stomach remained. For now, Heeseong leaned against Yoon Chi-young’s chest and groaned in pain. Heeseong already had a weak body, so it wasn’t easy to maintain his human form while injured.
“I, I…”
“I’ll call a doctor. Let’s go to the bed.”
“It’s fine. Just… let me rest, and it’ll be okay… if you just shut up…”
As he spoke and groaned, Heeseong’s body gradually collapsed. Yoon Chi-young, who had been holding him, gently carried Heeseong in his arms as if anticipating what was to come.
And by the time Heeseong opened his eyes again, sweating coldly, he knew the change that had occurred in his body.
…Woof.
He had turned into a puppy again. The puppy sat weakly on Yoon Chi-young’s hand with a dejected face. He had anticipated that he would have to return to his original form because of his injury, but he didn’t know he would turn back with such a burning anger inside.
‘This is all because of you…!’
“Are you feeling a bit better now?”
‘How could I be?’
Even at the worried question, the puppy bared his teeth at Yoon Chi-young and glared fiercely. Then Yoon Chi-young looked down at the cotton ball puppy as if he would die of cuteness and suddenly bit the white head as if he would eat it in one bite, but not painfully. Now the puppy had even become accustomed to that, so he sat there in resignation even as his head was being bitten.
Yoon Chi-young was really consistent no matter what form Heeseong took. To the point of being infuriating.
